Aishwarya Rajesh, who was last seen in the 2025 Sankranti blockbuster 'Sankranthiki Vasthunam', is now preparing for the release of her upcoming film 'Oh Sukumari'. During the teaser launch of the film, the actress opened up about her decision to take a break after her previous success and why she chose this particular project.
Aishwarya Rajesh Waited for the Right Script
According to a report by Cinema Express, Aishwarya Rajesh shared that she did not want to rush into signing films immediately after the success of Anil Ravipudi's 'Sankranthiki Vasthunam'. Instead, she preferred to wait for a story that would truly excite her. "I took my own time to do a good subject and I signed 'Oh Sukumari' after 'Sankranthiki Vasthunam'," she said.
The actress also mentioned that expectations for her films existed even before the Sankranti blockbuster. She stated that audiences have always expected something different from her performances. "It's not 'Sankranthiki Vasthunam', but before that also people expected something from me when I did my films," she added.
About 'Oh Sukumari'
Aishwarya Rajesh spoke about her upcoming film 'Oh Sukumari', which she believes offers a fresh concept rarely seen in South Indian cinema. "This is definitely an entertaining film, and whether I reach the expectations or not has been decided by the audience," she said. The actress further explained that the story stood out because of its unusual premise. Referring to her earlier film 'DeAr', which dealt with a snoring problem, she noted that 'Oh Sukumari' presents a completely different twist. "In my earlier one 'DeAr', I got a problem with snoring, and in this one, if anyone touches the female lead, they will get shocked, which I felt is a different one," said Aishwarya Rajesh.
Actress Turned Down Several Offers
The actress revealed that she received numerous offers after the success of 'Sankranthiki Vasthunam', but chose to wait for the right project. "After a huge success, I definitely got many offers, and I waited for a good subject. I liked 'Oh Sukumari' and signed it. This is my next film after 'Sankranthiki Vasthunam'," she concluded.
