UPMSP Announces 2026 Improvement and Compartment Exams

The Uttar Pradesh Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad (UPMSP) has officially announced the schedule for the High School (Class 10) Improvement and Compartment Examinations as well as the Intermediate (Class 12) Compartment Examination for the year 2026. Eligible students can submit their applications online through the board's official website starting from June 6, 2026, until June 27, 2026.

Application Process and Deadline

According to a notification issued by the board, the online application window will open on June 6, 2026, and will close at midnight on June 27, 2026. The board has instructed all eligible candidates to complete the application process within this period and adhere to the submission guidelines carefully. Late applications will not be accepted under any circumstances.

Eligibility for Class 10 Improvement and Compartment Exams

For the High School examination, students can apply under two distinct categories:

  • Improvement Examination: Candidates who failed in only one subject are eligible to appear for the examination in that subject to improve their score.
  • Compartment Examination: Candidates who failed in two subjects can appear in only one of the failed subjects under the compartment scheme.

The examination fee for the High School Improvement and Compartment Examination has been fixed at Rs 256.50. Students must pay this fee while submitting their applications.

Eligibility for Class 12 Compartment Exam

For the Intermediate examination, students from the Humanities, Science, and Commerce streams who have failed in one subject are eligible to appear for the compartment examination. Additionally, the board has extended eligibility to:

  • Agriculture stream students who have failed in any one prescribed paper of Agriculture Part I or Part II.
  • Vocational stream students who have failed in any one trade-related paper.

The examination fee for the Intermediate Compartment Examination has been set at Rs 306. This fee is non-refundable and must be paid online.

Fee Payment via Treasury Challan

UPMSP has instructed candidates to deposit the prescribed examination fee through a treasury challan under the board's designated account head. After completing the online application, students must download a copy of the submitted form and attach the original treasury challan receipt as proof of fee payment. The board has made it mandatory for candidates to send the downloaded application form along with the original challan receipt to the concerned regional office of the council. These documents must be dispatched through registered post within three days after the application deadline, i.e., after June 27, 2026. Failure to do so may result in the cancellation of the application.
