The West Bengal Board of Higher Secondary Education (WBCHSE) has officially announced the results for the Higher Secondary Examination 2026. Among the three major streams, Science emerged as the top performer with an impressive pass percentage of 99.19 percent. This marks a significant achievement, as the stream narrowly missed a perfect 100 percent result by less than one percentage point.
Stream-Wise Performance
According to the official data released by the board, a total of 1,11,288 students appeared for the Science stream examination, out of which 1,10,383 successfully cleared the test. The Commerce stream also performed well, recording a pass percentage of 93.67 percent. Out of 37,671 candidates who appeared, 35,285 passed the examination. Meanwhile, the Arts stream registered the lowest pass percentage among the three categories at 89.19 percent. A total of 4,77,299 Arts students appeared, and 4,25,687 passed.
Overall Pass Percentage
The overall pass percentage for the WBCHSE Higher Secondary Examination 2026 stood at 91.23 percent. The results were declared on May 14 during a press conference held at Vidyasagar Bhavan in Salt Lake, Kolkata. Students can access their marksheets online through the official WBCHSE result websites.
Grade Distribution Highlights
The stream-wise grade distribution further highlighted the strong performance of Science students. In the highest scoring brackets, Science candidates dominated the A++, A+, and A grade categories. As many as 3,678 Science students secured A++ grades, while over 25,000 obtained A+ marks. The stream also produced nearly 50,000 A-grade scorers.

Students can check their Class 12 results online through the official WBCHSE website or other designated portals. The board has also made results available on the Times of India portal for easy access.
