The West Bengal Board of Secondary Education (WBBSE) has declared the results for the Madhyamik Pariksha 2026. The topper list once again highlights a fiercely competitive academic battle, with top ranks separated by just a few marks. The overall pass percentage remains steady at approximately 86.83%, but the merit chart shows intense clustering at the very top.
State Topper Abhiroop Bhadra
This year, Abhiroop Bhadra from Uttar Dinajpur has emerged as the overall state topper, securing a near-perfect score in the upper 690s range. His outstanding performance has placed him at Rank 1 in a closely fought merit list that reflects strong competition across districts.
Narrow Margin Among Top Scorers
What stands out in 2026 is the extremely narrow margin among top scorers. Most of the candidates from Rank 1 to Rank 10 are clustered within a small band of marks, roughly between 688 and 698. This shows how even one or two marks have significantly altered rankings this year.
