The Nuclear Power Corporation of India Limited (NPCIL) has officially released the recruitment notification for Category-II Stipendiary Trainee/Technician positions at the Kudankulam Nuclear Power Project (KKNPP). Educational Qualification

For the Plant Operator post, candidates must have passed Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) or Intermediate School Certificate (ISC) with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics, securing at least 50% aggregate marks. Additionally, English must have been studied at the Secondary School Certificate (SSC) level.

For other trades such as Electrician, Fitter, Electronics Mechanic, and Welder, candidates should have passed Class 10 with a minimum of 50% marks in Science and Mathematics individually, along with a two-year Industrial Training Institute (ITI) certificate in the relevant trade.

Age Limit

Candidates must be between 18 and 24 years of age as of June 29, 2026. Reserved category candidates are eligible for age relaxation as per Government of India norms.

Selection Process

The selection process comprises the following stages:

  • Preliminary Test
  • Advanced Test
  • Document Verification

The computer-based examination will be conducted in Tamil, Hindi, and English languages.

Salary and Stipend

Selected candidates will receive a stipend of ₹20,000 per month during the first year of training and ₹22,000 per month during the second year. A one-time book allowance of ₹3,000 will also be provided. Upon successful completion of training, candidates may be absorbed as Technician/B in Pay Level-3 with a starting basic pay of ₹21,700. The approximate monthly emoluments, including Dearness Allowance, will be around ₹34,720.

Application Fee

Male candidates belonging to General, Other Backward Classes (Non-Creamy Layer), and Economically Weaker Sections categories are required to pay an application fee of ₹100. Female candidates, Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe, Persons with Benchmark Disabilities, Ex-servicemen, Dependents of Defence Personnel Killed in Action, and NPCIL employees are exempted from paying the fee.
