The admission process for 25% of seats in MBA programmes at four Centres of Excellence in Gujarat has concluded, but 25 seats remain vacant even after an additional offline round conducted to fill leftover vacancies.
Overview of the Admission Process
The institutes — Nirma University, Pandit Deendayal Energy University (PDEU), Ahmedabad University and CEPT University — offered a total of 214 MBA seats through the Common Admission Test (CAT). Around 700 candidates had applied, and admissions were initially carried out through two merit-based online rounds.
Despite this, 98 seats remained unfilled — 23 out of 100 at Nirma University, 33 out of 62 at PDEU, 25 out of 25 at Ahmedabad University and 17 out of 23 at CEPT University. As per admission rules, additional online rounds were not permitted, prompting authorities to organise an offline round.
Offline Round Results
More than 600 candidates were invited for the offline process, during which all available seats were offered to those present. Consequently, Nirma University and PDEU managed to fill all their vacant seats.
However, Ahmedabad University and CEPT University together still have 25 seats unfilled. During the offline round, 80 fresh candidates secured admissions, while 10 students opted for transfers to other institutes.
The remaining 25 seats will now be returned to the respective universities for further action.
