The e-admission process for Class XI in higher secondary schools for the 2026-27 academic session commenced in Bhubaneswar on Tuesday. The directorate of higher secondary education has activated the SAMS portal for students to submit their common application forms.
Students who have successfully passed the high school certificate (HSC) examination conducted by the Board of Secondary Education or equivalent boards are eligible to apply. According to the directorate, applications can be submitted until June 30.
Merit List and Admission Schedule
The first selection merit list will be published on July 8. Students selected in the first phase can complete their admission process from July 9 to July 15. For those who wish to opt for slide-up requests after the first selection, the online facility will be available from July 10 to July 16.
The second selection merit list is scheduled for release on July 23, and admissions under the second phase will continue until July 28, as stated in a release by the directorate.
Spot Admissions
For spot admissions, the choice-locking facility will open on July 30 and remain available until August 2. The spot selection list will be published on August 6, followed by admissions until August 12.
The school and mass education department has fixed July 23 as the commencement date for Class XI courses in higher secondary schools across the state.
