Students seeking admission to undergraduate and postgraduate courses across Madhya Pradesh can begin registrations from May 1, as the higher education department has advanced the process by nearly 15 days this year. Registrations for undergraduate courses such as BA, BCom, BSc and integrated law programmes will be open from May 1 to May 15. For postgraduate courses including MA, MCom and MSc, the process will begin on May 2.
Students can apply through the MP Online portal, mobile app and authorised kiosk centres. This year, Common University Entrance Test undergraduate and postgraduate scores may also be used for admissions, widening options for applicants. The state has around 1,360 colleges, including 569 government and nearly 800 private and aided institutions. These offer close to 8 lakh seats at the undergraduate level and about 4 lakh at the postgraduate level. In addition, nearly 72,000 seats are available in NCTE-approved courses such as BEd, MEd, BPEd and MPEd.
Admission Process Phases
The admission process will be conducted in three phases, including two online rounds followed by a college-level counselling round. All rounds are scheduled to conclude by June 30. Students are required to complete choice filling along with registration and are advised to select multiple colleges to improve their chances of allotment. Colleges will set up admission help centres with trained operators to assist students in registration and document-related issues.
College Chalo Campaign
Under the ‘College Chalo' campaign, institutions will also reach out directly to Class 12 pass students through phone and WhatsApp, while teams will identify dropouts and encourage them to continue higher education.
Verification and Merit List Timeline
For UG courses, document verification will take place from May 2 to May 16, with the first merit list to be released on May 20. Fee payment for selected candidates will be done between May 20 and May 26. PG verification will be held from May 4 to May 16, with the first allotment list on May 21. BBA and BCA courses will remain outside the centralised process and will be conducted separately through the technical education stream.
