Chandigarh: Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Thursday felicitated three students who achieved a perfect score of 500 out of 500 in the Punjab School Education Board (PSEB) Class XII examinations. The chief minister presented Supneet Kaur from Mansa, and Suhani Chauhan and Divyanshi from Ludhiana with a cash prize of Rs 50,000 each.
During the interaction, Mann highlighted that all three toppers are national or state-level sportspersons and come from humble backgrounds. He expressed immense pride in their achievements, stating that through hard work and dedication, they are excelling in every field.
Overall Exam Results
Sharing details of the examination results, Mann informed that approximately 2.65 lakh students appeared for the exams, out of which nearly 2.42 lakh passed, resulting in an overall pass percentage of 91.46%. The pass percentage among girls stood at 94.73%, significantly higher than the 88.52% recorded among boys.
District-Wise Performance
Amritsar recorded the highest district pass percentage at 96%. Patiala had the highest number of merit holders, with 59 students making it to the merit list. Mann also pointed out that girls continued to outperform boys, with 217 girls and 61 boys securing positions in the merit list.
The chief minister lauded the efforts of the students, teachers, and parents for their contributions to this remarkable achievement.
