The Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions (TNEA) committee has opened applications for engineering counselling starting Sunday. Class XII students can apply for counselling until June 2 on the official website.
Key Dates and Schedule
According to the admissions schedule, the engineering rank list will be released on June 29. Online engineering counselling is expected to be conducted in July. TNEA stated that the counselling dates will be updated after receiving approval from the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE).
Application Process and Tie-Breaking
Candidates can apply for counselling on TNEA's official website, www.tneaonline.org. A random number will be assigned to each candidate on June 5, which will be used to break ties in the ranking. Certificate verification for candidates is scheduled from June 8 to 20.
Exam Results Timeline
State board Class XII exam results are scheduled to be released on May 8, while CBSE plans to release Class XII results in the third week of May. Only ISC results have been declared so far.

The Directorate of Technical Education released a statement saying, "Last five years' cut-off marks for colleges and courses, details of 110 TNEA facilitation centres (TFCs), and the certificates required for special quota admissions have been uploaded on the website." Previous Year Statistics and Seat Availability
In the previous year, 443 engineering colleges participated in the counselling, and 2,20,841 students enrolled through counselling and management quota seats. This year, more than two lakh students are expected to compete for approximately 1.7 lakh seats available under the government quota.
Anna University Directive
To grant affiliation to engineering colleges, Anna University has directed all engineering faculty members to obtain a faculty identification number. Sources indicate that the university may not conduct physical inspections of engineering colleges this year.
