CAT 2025 Answer Key Objection Window Opens Tomorrow

The Indian Institute of Management Kozhikode (IIM Kozhikode) is set to open a crucial window for candidates of the Common Admission Test (CAT) 2025. The institute will activate the objection facility for the provisional answer key starting tomorrow, 8 December 2025, from 12 noon onwards. This window provides an opportunity for the more than 2.58 lakh candidates who took the exam to challenge any answers they believe are incorrect.

How to Submit Objections for CAT 2025 Answer Key

Candidates wishing to raise objections must do so exclusively through the official CAT portal, iimcat.ac.in. The window will remain open only until 10 December 2025. It is a strictly online process, and no other mode of submission will be accepted.

The step-by-step process to file a challenge is as follows:

  1. Visit the official website: iimcat.ac.in.
  2. Click on the ‘Candidate Login’ option.
  3. Enter your registered identification number and password.
  4. On the dashboard, fill in any required personal details if prompted.
  5. Navigate to the ‘Objection Form’ tab.
  6. Select the specific question number, section, and state the nature of your objection.
  7. You may provide explanatory remarks in a text box (up to 500 words).
  8. Upload supporting documents or evidence to justify your challenge.
  9. Pay the prescribed objection fee to complete the submission.
  10. Submit the form and ensure you save a copy for your records.

It is critical to note that all objections will be scrutinized by independent expert panels. Only submissions deemed valid will be considered for potential revisions in the final answer key.

Key Details About CAT 2025 Examination

The CAT 2025 exam was conducted on 30 November 2025 in a computer-based test format. It was held across 339 test centres in 170 cities throughout the country. IIM Kozhikode has already released the provisional answer keys for all three slots—Slot 1, Slot 2, and Slot 3—along with individual response sheets. Candidates can access these on their dashboard after logging in.

The marking scheme for CAT 2025 remains unchanged:

  • +3 marks for every correct answer.
  • -1 mark for each incorrect answer in Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs).
  • No penalty for questions that are left unattempted.

Final Result and Important Dates

The final CAT 2025 result will be prepared solely based on the revised final answer key, which will be published after the objection review process. IIM Kozhikode has indicated that the results are expected to be declared in the first week of January 2026.

This objection window is a vital part of ensuring transparency and fairness in one of India's most competitive management entrance exams. Candidates are advised to use this short timeframe judiciously to review their response sheets against the provisional key and submit any well-founded challenges with proper documentation.
