Ranchi: Expressing concern over controversies related to competitive examinations conducted by the Jharkhand Public Service Commission (JPSC), Governor Santosh Kumar Gangwar has directed the commission to conduct a detailed investigation into the matter.
According to a communique from Lok Bhavan, the governor cited reports about errors in the question papers of the assistant conservator of forests main examination and the state civil services preliminary exam. Additionally, JPSC’s provisional answer keys released prior to the exam also contained errors.
The governor also raised concerns over lapses in the Jharkhand Eligibility Test (JET) at two centres last Sunday, which led to the cancellation of the JET. These irregularities have caused confusion among candidates and impacted the credibility of JPSC.
Governor's Directive
“These irregularities cause confusion among candidates and impact the credibility of JPSC. A detailed investigation must be conducted to fix responsibilities for the lapses, followed by appropriate action in accordance with the rules,” the governor said. He stressed the need for stronger safeguards and better coordination for future examinations.
The governor’s directive comes amid growing concerns over the integrity of competitive exams in the state. Candidates have expressed frustration over repeated errors, which undermine trust in the selection process. The JPSC has been asked to submit a report on the investigation at the earliest.
