The Madhya Pradesh Public Service Commission (MPPSC) is taking a major step to safeguard the integrity of its competitive examinations. In a decisive move to combat impersonation and the use of unfair means, the commission is preparing to implement a robust three-layer security system across all its tests. This new framework is slated to be mandatory for examinations advertised from December 2025 onwards, with its full effect expected from the March-April 2026 examination cycle.
A Multi-Pronged Approach to Exam Integrity
To operationalize this enhanced security plan, the MPPSC has reissued a tender to appoint a specialized agency. Officials confirmed that the system will be compulsory for every exam conducted by the commission. This includes high-stakes, high-volume tests like the State Service Examination, which involves both preliminary and main stages and attracts a massive number of aspirants.
Dr. Rajesh Lal Mehra, Chairman of MPPSC, informed that the examination department is actively working on the implementation. "It is expected to be finalised soon for the examinations planned later in 2026," he stated. This initiative aligns with growing national concerns over malpractice in competitive exams and aims to bring MPPSC protocols in line with major national testing agencies.
Breaking Down the Three Security Layers
The first layer revolves around continuous electronic surveillance. Every examination hall will be equipped with CCTV cameras. The live feed from all centers across Madhya Pradesh will be monitored in real-time from a central control room at the MPPSC headquarters in Indore. This setup will enable officials to intervene immediately if any irregularity is spotted during the exam.
The second and most crucial layer focuses on foolproof candidate authentication. Admit cards will now feature a QR code. Upon scanning this code at the exam center, the candidate's details will be instantly accessible. This will be bolstered by biometric verification, including fingerprint authentication and iris scanning. The commission will also utilize Aadhaar-based identification to ensure that only the genuine, registered candidate enters the examination hall. An MPPSC official emphasized that this layer will save significant time during the verification process while making it tamper-proof.
The third layer involves physical screening to prevent the use of electronic devices. Officials stated that hand-held metal detectors will be deployed at all centers. Each candidate will be screened before entering to detect any gadgets that could be used for cheating.
Impact on Lakhs of Aspirants
The scale of this change is substantial, as the MPPSC conducts an average of 20 to 22 examinations annually. These include recruitment tests for:
- State Service Examination
- Assistant Professor
- State Engineering Service
- Food Safety Officer
- ADPO
- Dental Surgeon
Many of these exams see participation ranging from 40,000 to over 2 lakh candidates. The new security apparatus is designed to handle this volume while restoring public confidence in the transparency and fairness of the state's premier recruitment process. Officials believe this comprehensive system will set a new standard for exam conduct in Madhya Pradesh.
