Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government has implemented measures for the smooth conduct of the NEET (UG) re-examination scheduled for June 21, chief secretary Anu Garg announced on Tuesday. Chairing a high-level meeting with officials from various departments and district collectors to review preparations, Garg confirmed that all necessary arrangements have been completed. She directed district administrations and police authorities to ensure the examination proceeds smoothly and orderly.
Examination Details and Security Measures
Around 56,983 candidates are set to appear for the test at 132 centres across 27 towns. Garg emphasized the need for comprehensive arrangements at all exam centres and strict adherence to protocols for a hassle-free conduct. “Adequate security arrangements are being put in place at exam centres, storage facilities for question papers, and along transportation routes. Everyone entering the examination halls will undergo double frisking,” she said.
Observer Deployment and Transport Support
Observers from both the National Testing Agency (NTA) and the state government will oversee the examination. The NTA had earlier announced deployment of independent observers alongside state and district officials to ensure strict compliance with standard operating procedures, multi-layered frisking, and 100% CCTV coverage. To facilitate candidate movement, the transport department has been directed to provide free bus services from nearby railway stations and bus stands to examination centres and back, easing travel difficulties for students.
Coordination with International Yoga Day
As the NEET UG re-examination coincides with the International Day of Yoga on June 21, the government has asked all departments and district administrations to make coordinated preparations to ensure both events proceed without disruption.
