A 20-year-old man from Jodhpur has been detained by security agencies on suspicion of sharing sensitive military information with Pakistan. The suspect, identified as Kundan Vishnoi, was taken into custody from the Itarana Military Cantonment in Alwar district.
Arrest and Initial Investigation
According to ASP (Headquarters) Alwar Deepak Kumar Sharma, Vishnoi was spotted inside the cantonment under suspicious circumstances along with a girl student on Sunday night. Army personnel detained him and upon checking his phone, found communications linked to a Pakistani number. The Army Intelligence then intensified the inquiry and informed the MIA police station. Vishnoi was brought to the police station on Monday evening and is currently being interrogated.
Suspected Links with Pakistani Intelligence
Investigators suspect that Vishnoi was in contact with a Pakistani intelligence operative and had allegedly passed on information related to army cantonments and other sensitive locations. Officials allege that he used money received through these contacts to cultivate relationships with school and college students living in the cantonment area to gather information.
Evidence Found
During questioning, investigators reportedly found evidence suggesting that Vishnoi had shared confidential information with Pakistan, including during Operation Sindoor. Examination of his mobile phone also revealed conversations with a Pakistani number. Investigators alleged that Vishnoi used social media platforms, including Instagram, to befriend girl students residing in the cantonment to gain access to the area. Sources said he would send expensive birthday gifts to win the trust of his contacts.
Ongoing Investigation
A joint team comprising officials from the Intelligence Bureau, CID and other intelligence agencies is continuing the investigation.
