Madurai: Approximately 3,900 aspirants appeared for the UPSC preliminary civil service examinations conducted across 16 locations in Madurai city on Sunday. A total of 5,711 individuals had applied for the exam. Of these, 3,896 candidates were present for the morning session, while an additional 37 aspirants were absent during the afternoon session.
Officials Inspect Exam Centers
Suresh Kumar, the coordinator of selection processes and commissioner for the welfare of backward classes and minorities, inspected the examination center at Madurai Waqf Board College to ensure smooth conduct. The examinations were held in multiple venues across the city, with strict adherence to guidelines.
Exam Details and Attendance
The UPSC preliminary examination is the first stage of the civil services selection process. In Madurai, the turnout was approximately 68% of the total applicants. Officials noted that the examination proceeded without any major disruptions.
