Over 25 Nursing Colleges in MP to Join DAVV from 2026-27, Ending Years of Uncertainty
25+ Nursing Colleges in MP Shift to DAVV from 2026-27

Major Shift for Nursing Education in Madhya Pradesh as Colleges Join DAVV

In a significant development for higher education in Madhya Pradesh, more than 25 nursing colleges across the districts of Indore, Dhar, and Jhabua will come under the affiliation of Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya (DAVV) starting from the upcoming academic session of 2026-27. This move brings renewed hope to thousands of nursing students who have faced years of academic uncertainty due to delayed examinations, late results, and concerns over infrastructure and teaching standards.

Ending a Decade of Irregularities

For nearly a decade, these colleges were affiliated with the Madhya Pradesh Medical Science University in Jabalpur. During this period, several irregularities surfaced, raising serious concerns about oversight and disrupting students' academic plans. The shift to DAVV is expected to provide a more structured academic calendar and closer monitoring of institutions, addressing long-standing issues that have plagued nursing education in the region.

Formal Notification and Fee Structure

DAVV has issued a formal notification detailing a five-tier fee structure for colleges seeking affiliation for the 2026-27 session. This decision followed government directives and an academic council meeting. Both government and private institutions are required to complete the affiliation process, ensuring a standardized approach across all participating colleges.

"As the department of higher education and the Madhya Pradesh Nursing Registration Council formally placed nursing colleges under the respective state universities, over 25 colleges from Indore, Dhar and Jhabua received clearance to proceed with affiliation. These colleges will come under DAVV from the upcoming session," said DAVV college development council dean Sachin Sharma.

Rigorous Inspection Process

Colleges have been asked to submit detailed course information and apply for affiliation through a transparent process. A three-member inspection team, comprising nursing college principals or retired faculty along with DAVV representatives, will assess infrastructure and academic facilities before granting final approval. This rigorous evaluation aims to ensure that all affiliated colleges meet the required standards for quality education.

Courses Impacted by the Affiliation Shift

The affiliation change will impact several key healthcare programs, including:

  • BSc Nursing
  • MSc Nursing
  • Bachelor of Physiotherapy
  • Bachelor of Occupational Therapy
  • Medical Laboratory Technology programmes

Push for Transparency and Accountability

In a push for greater transparency, DAVV has mandated that all applications be submitted through the MPOnline portal. Officials emphasize that this move is designed to ensure timely examinations, clear documentation, and improved accountability. By leveraging digital platforms, the university aims to create a more reliable academic framework that benefits students directly.

The transition marks a pivotal moment for nursing education in Madhya Pradesh, offering students a pathway to more predictable and high-quality academic experiences. With enhanced oversight and structured processes, DAVV's affiliation is set to transform the educational landscape for healthcare professionals in the region.
