CMAT 2026 Results Out: 41,872 Candidates Appeared for Admissions

National Testing Agency Releases CMAT 2026 Results for MBA and MCA Admissions

The National Testing Agency (NTA) officially declared the results of the Common Management Admission Test (CMAT) 2026 on Thursday. The examination, conducted on January 25, serves as a crucial gateway for admissions to MBA and MCA programs across numerous colleges in India.

Key Statistics and Participation Details

Out of a total of 53,453 candidates who registered for the test, a significant 41,872 individuals, representing 78.3% of registrants, actually appeared for the examination. This high turnout underscores the test's importance in the management education landscape.

The gender distribution among candidates revealed that 19,905 were female, 21,966 were male, and one candidate identified as transgender. In terms of regional participation, Gujarat alone accounted for approximately 14,000 students taking the test, highlighting its strong presence in the state's academic sphere.

Category-Wise Breakdown and Admission Process Insights

A detailed analysis of candidate categories shows that 20,502 belonged to the general category, 12,541 to the OBC category, 5,565 to the EWS category, 2,540 to the SC category, 724 to the ST category, and 107 to the PwD category. These figures provide a comprehensive view of the diverse applicant pool.

Currently, the state admission committee manages the intake for over 27,000 combined MBA and MCA seats. However, it is noteworthy that only about 2,000 to 3,000 candidates from the total pool ultimately secure admission through the CMAT process. After the CMAT admissions are finalized, any remaining vacant seats are transferred to the respective colleges.

These leftover seats are then filled by candidates who did not appear for the CMAT examination. This practice has led to a trend where many students opt not to take the test, anticipating that admissions may be offered even without the entrance exam if vacancies persist.

The CMAT 2026 results mark a pivotal step in the annual admission cycle for management and computer application programs, setting the stage for the next phases of seat allocation and college admissions across the country.
