Patliputra University (PPU) is set to commence its undergraduate (UG) Semester VI examinations for the academic session 2023-27 from Monday. The examinations will be conducted at 40 designated centres located in colleges across Patna and Nalanda districts of Bihar.
Examination Details
According to PPU examination controller Manoj Kumar, approximately 80,000 students, including girls from the arts, science, and commerce streams, will appear for the examinations. These include regular candidates who are nearing the completion of their undergraduate studies.
Measures for Fair Conduct
To ensure smooth and fair conduct, the university has deployed 12 flying squad teams. These teams will conduct surprise inspections at examination centres to prevent malpractice and maintain the integrity of the examination process. The exams will be held in two sittings each day: the first sitting from 10 am to 1 pm and the second sitting from 2 pm to 5 pm.
Security Arrangements
In view of the large number of candidates and to maintain order, Section 144 of the BNSS (Bhartiya Nagrik Suraksha Sanhita) will be enforced in and around all examination centres throughout the examination period. This measure prohibits unlawful assembly and is aimed at preventing any disruption. Static magistrates will be deployed at each centre.
The district administrations of both Patna and Nalanda districts have been directed to ensure adequate security arrangements and maintain law and order at all centres. Coordination between local authorities and university administration has been strengthened to handle any unforeseen situations.
Facilities for Students
Each centre superintendent has been asked to make all possible arrangements for the supply of safe drinking water and availability of medical first aid to meet any emergency needs during the examination period in sultry weather conditions.
