Srivastava brings a wealth of experience to his new role, having served as the officiating registrar of IIT-BHU for over four-and-a-half years. His professional journey began in 1996 when he joined Banaras Hindu University as an assistant registrar. Over the years, he climbed the administrative ladder, earning a promotion to deputy registrar at BHU in 2009.

Earlier in his career, Srivastava was also appointed as the Registrar of the Atal Bihari Vajpayee Indian Institute of Information Technology and Management in Gwalior.
