Sanskrit University's 'SAN-V-LOG' Workshop Trains Students in Vlogging

Sanskrit University Pioneers Digital Vlogging Workshop in Jaipur

In a groundbreaking initiative to bridge ancient tradition with contemporary technology, the Jagadguru Ramanandacharya Rajasthan Sanskrit University in Jaipur is set to host a five-day workshop titled "SAN-V-LOG" from February 23. This innovative program is specifically designed to train students in creating Sanskrit-language vlogs for popular digital platforms such as YouTube, marking a significant step in linking the classical language with modern digital media.

A First-of-Its-Kind Initiative in Rajasthan

University officials have confirmed that this workshop represents the first such program in Rajasthan and only the second of its kind in India. The initiative gains momentum following Prime Minister Narendra Modi's remarks during his Mann Ki Baat address last October, where he highlighted the growing popularity of Sanskrit among youth through vlogging. This move underscores a national effort to revitalize Sanskrit by integrating it into everyday digital content.

Workshop Details and Participant Engagement

The workshop will welcome 50 students from various states across India, providing them with a unique platform to interact with a diverse group of experts. Participants will engage with:

  • Academicians specializing in Sanskrit studies
  • Theatre artists with experience in performance and storytelling
  • Screenwriters skilled in content creation
  • Journalists versed in media communication

This collaborative approach aims to help students understand how to effectively incorporate Sanskrit into day-to-day content, making the language more accessible and relevant to modern audiences.

Empowering Students Through Tradition and Technology

Vice-chancellor Prof Madan Mohan Jha emphasized the dual objectives of the workshop. "This workshop will not only empower students technically but will also provide new opportunities for the promotion of the Sanskrit language," he stated. "This initiative of the university aims to inspire students to be self-reliant and innovative, while integrating tradition and technology." The program is designed to foster creativity and self-sufficiency among participants, encouraging them to explore new avenues for language preservation and promotion.

Comprehensive Learning Experience

At the workshop, students will receive a balanced mix of theoretical knowledge and practical skills related to vlogging. The curriculum includes:

  1. Theoretical sessions on digital media fundamentals and content strategy
  2. Practical training in video production, editing, and platform-specific techniques
  3. Hands-on exercises to create Sanskrit vlogs from concept to execution
  4. Feedback and mentorship from industry professionals

This holistic approach ensures that participants are well-equipped to produce high-quality Sanskrit content that resonates with digital audiences, potentially increasing the language's visibility and appeal in the online sphere.
