Rohit Pawar Ends Hunger Strike Over Farm Loan Waiver

NCP (SP) leader Rohit Pawar concluded his hunger strike on Monday after receiving assurances from the Maharashtra government regarding the implementation of the farm loan waiver scheme. The protest, which lasted several days, was aimed at pressing the state government to expedite the rollout of the 'Punyashlok Ahilyadevi Holkar Shetkari Karja-mukti Yojana', which offers a loan waiver of up to Rs 2 lakh for eligible farmers.

Government Assurance

Maharashtra Minister Girish Mahajan intervened and provided a written assurance that the scheme would be implemented effectively. Following this, Rohit Pawar decided to end his hunger strike. The NCP (SP) leader had been demanding immediate action on the loan waiver, which was announced earlier to provide relief to financially distressed farmers across the state.
