Bengaluru Student's Mysterious Death Sparks Controversy as Father Accuses MAHE

In a tragic incident that has sent shockwaves through Bengaluru, a 19-year-old BTech student fell to his death under mysterious circumstances from the ninth floor of his hostel in Yelahanka New Town. The victim, identified as Lakshya Mishra, a second-year student at Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE), died in the early hours of Tuesday, leading to serious allegations from his family against the educational institution.

Father Alleges Discrepancies in MAHE's Account

Lakshya Mishra's father, Anjani Kumar Mishra, has publicly blamed MAHE for "not telling the truth" about his son's suspicious death. According to Mishra, he received a call around 3:30 AM informing him that Lakshya had fallen from the ninth floor, followed by another call 30 minutes later declaring his death. However, upon inspecting the scene and his son's body, Mishra found inconsistencies that raised doubts.

"When I saw his body in the hospital, there were no signs of deep wounds that one would expect from a fall from such a height," Mishra stated in a video. "Additionally, the window from which he allegedly fell was so narrow that even a child would find it difficult to sneak through. Manipal people are not telling the truth."

Police Investigation Underway

A senior police officer confirmed that based on Mishra's complaint, a case of unnatural death has been registered. Preliminary investigations include reviewing CCTV footage, which shows Lakshya walking alone on the ninth floor around 1 AM, shortly before the incident. The officer emphasized that it is too early to draw any conclusions, as the investigation is ongoing.

Another officer mentioned that MAHE faculty members are being questioned as part of the probe. Meanwhile, the institution's spokesperson declined to comment when contacted by media outlets, adding to the mystery surrounding the case.

Lakshya Mishra fell from the college hostel building at Govindapura around 1:30 AM on Tuesday. He was immediately shifted to a nearby hospital, where doctors declared him dead.
