Twin Tragedies Rock Buldhana as Two Young Students Die by Suicide

The city of Buldhana has been plunged into profound grief and shock following the devastating deaths of two 14-year-old classmates within a span of just two days last week. The boys, both studying in Class 8 at a well-known school in the city, reportedly died by suicide, leaving their families, friends, and the entire community in a state of deep anguish.

First Incident: A Tragic Day on February 11

In the first heartbreaking case, one of the boys took the extreme step on February 11. Sources indicate that the tragic incident occurred when his parents—both of whom are teachers—were not at home. The sudden loss of their young son has left the family shattered, with the educational community particularly affected given the parents' profession.

Second Tragedy Strikes on February 14

In a chilling sequence, his classmate—whose father serves as a jail police official—died by suicide on the evening of February 14 after returning home from school. The proximity of these two incidents, involving classmates from the same academic institution, has amplified the sense of tragedy and raised urgent questions about the underlying circumstances.

Families Devastated, Academicians Alarmed

The deaths of these two minor classmates have left their families utterly devastated, grappling with an unimaginable loss. Beyond the personal tragedy, the incidents have raised serious concerns among academicians and educators about student well-being, mental health pressures, and the broader environment in which young learners operate.

At this preliminary stage, the specific reasons behind both tragic incidents remain unclear, adding to the confusion and pain experienced by those affected.

Police Investigation Underway with Extreme Sensitivity

Speaking to TOI over the phone, Buldhana city police station police inspector Ravi Rathore confirmed that cases of accidental death have been registered in connection with both incidents. Inspector Rathore emphasized that, given the deceased are minors, the investigation is being conducted with extreme sensitivity and caution.

"We are handling this matter with the utmost care and discretion," Rathore stated. "The police are also conducting a thorough technical investigation and examining all possible aspects to ascertain the precise circumstances that led to these two tragic deaths."

The authorities are leaving no stone unturned in their efforts to understand what transpired, while simultaneously respecting the privacy and emotional state of the grieving families.
