CBSE Class 10 Results 2026 Declared: National Pass Percentage Rises to 93.70%

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has officially released the Class 10 board examination results for the academic year 2026, revealing an overall pass percentage of 93.70 per cent. This figure marks a slight yet notable increase from the previous year's 93.66 per cent, indicating a steady upward trend in student performance across the country.

Massive Scale of Examinations with Enhanced Efficiency

Conducted across thousands of examination centers throughout India and in 27 countries worldwide, the CBSE Class 10 exams for 2026 witnessed the participation of over 24.7 lakh students. In a remarkable display of streamlined operations, the board evaluated more than 1.63 crore answer sheets through a digitised and efficient process. Notably, the results were announced earlier than usual this year, signalling significant improvements in evaluation coordination and administrative efficiency.

Delhi Emerges as Top Performer with Exceptional Results

Delhi has once again proven itself as one of the highest-performing regions in the CBSE Class 10 results for 2026, achieving an impressive collective pass percentage of 97.39 per cent. Breaking down the Delhi performance further:

  • Delhi East Region: With 2,11,121 registrations and 2,10,238 actual appearances, this region recorded a pass percentage of 97.33 per cent, with 2,04,628 students successfully clearing the examination.
  • Delhi West Region: Demonstrating even stronger results, this region saw 1,35,768 registrations, 1,34,989 appearances, and achieved a pass percentage of 97.45 per cent, with 1,31,548 students passing the exam.

Low Compartment Rates Reflect Consistent Academic Quality

The minimal number of students placed in the compartment category further underscores Delhi's strong academic performance. Statistical analysis reveals that only 2.61 per cent of students in Delhi East (5,481 out of 210,023) and 2.47 per cent in Delhi West (3,335 out of 134,957) failed to clear the examination, indicating exceptionally low failure rates across the capital region.

Across the entire Delhi region, CBSE recorded 3,46,889 registered candidates, with 3,45,227 students appearing for the examination. Among these, an impressive 3,36,176 students passed, reinforcing Delhi's position as a consistently high-performing area within the CBSE network. This trend has been observed for several consecutive years, with experts attributing Delhi's success to superior academic facilities and infrastructure.

National Trends Show Stability with Marginal Improvements

At the national level, the 93.70 per cent pass ratio reflects a stable academic environment with gradual improvements. According to CBSE officials, this positive trend can be attributed to several factors, including the implementation of competence-based testing methodologies and the gradual transition toward the National Education Policy (NEP), which emphasizes conceptual understanding over rote memorization.

Consistent with previous years, female students outperformed their male counterparts nationally, while southern regions continued to demonstrate strong performance. However, Delhi's exceptional results have positioned it among the top urban centers for CBSE Class 10 performance in 2026.

Educational Reforms Amid Consistent Performance Patterns

The year 2026 represents a significant period of transition for CBSE, with the board implementing various educational reforms, including the introduction of a dual board exam system that provides students with an additional attempt within the same academic year. Despite these systemic changes, the overall performance trends have remained remarkably stable.

Delhi's impressive academic achievements alongside national stability serve as clear indicators that the CBSE Class 10 results for 2026 reflect both consistency and resilience within India's evolving examination framework.
