CBSE Schools in Ranchi to Boost Transparency with Mandatory Online Disclosures
CBSE Schools in Ranchi to Enhance Transparency with Online Disclosures

Schools in Ranchi affiliated with the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) are gearing up for a major transparency drive. They will roll out a comprehensive set of compliance measures to publicly share key information about their academic, administrative, and infrastructure operations.

New Mandates for Online Disclosure

This move follows a recent directive from the CBSE board. Schools must now publish academic results and detailed fee structures on their official websites. They also need to display the academic calendar and information related to the school management committee (SMC).

Existing requirements will stay in place. Schools will continue to show mandatory details like the CBSE affiliation number, school code, complete address, and the principal's name.

Enhanced Teacher and Staff Details

Schools will upload complete and updated teacher information. This includes names, educational qualifications, and self-certified documents. Regular updates to this data will be essential.

Rajesh Pillai, Principal of Kairali School, emphasized the importance of compliance. He stated, "The Board has warned that non-compliance or inaccurate disclosure will be treated as a serious violation. It may invite disciplinary action."

Staffing and Infrastructure Requirements

Institutions must ensure they meet specific staffing norms. The mandatory student-teacher ratio is set at 30:1. Schools need at least 1.5 teachers per section, excluding the principal, physical education teacher, and counsellor.

Infrastructure details will also go online. Schools will upload information about internet facilities, the number of toilets, and other prescribed disclosures. This step aims to meet higher transparency standards.

Annual Reporting and Deadlines

Schools will publish their annual reports on their websites by September 15 each year. These reports will cover a wide range of areas. They include teacher training, academic achievements, sports and co-curricular activities, environmental education, innovations, examination results, PTA activities, and key SMC decisions.

Details of teachers' qualifications in the prescribed format must be made available by February 15.

Building Trust with the Community

Pillai highlighted the benefits of these measures. He said, "Strict adherence to CBSE norms will enhance transparency and strengthen trust between schools and the community. A well-maintained website helps parents understand academic standards and teaching resources. Ultimately, it supports the all-round development of students."

This initiative marks a significant step towards greater accountability in CBSE schools across Ranchi. Parents and stakeholders can expect easier access to vital school information in the coming months.
