CSJMU Administration Takes Swift Action, Suspends Three Students in Campus Gangrape Attempt Case

In a significant development at Chhatrapati Shahu Ji Maharaj University (CSJMU) in Kanpur, the university administration has taken decisive action by suspending three students who stand accused of attempting to gangrape a fellow student on the campus premises. This move comes as local police have taken the three accused individuals into custody and initiated a comprehensive interrogation process to uncover the full details of the disturbing incident.

Police Investigation and Medical Examination Conducted

Law enforcement authorities have been actively involved in the case, with police recording the complainant's official statement and conducting her medical examination to gather crucial evidence. Details of the Incident and Police Statements

ACP Kalyanpur Ashutosh Kumar confirmed that the victim's medical examination has been completed and her statement was officially recorded in court on Wednesday. The incident, which dates back to March 16, involves allegations that the accused students called the victim to a classroom under the pretext of sharing a meal, where they subsequently molested her and attempted to gangrape her. When the student raised an alarm, the accused reportedly threatened to kill her, escalating the severity of the situation.

Family's Complaint and Allegations of Threats

The victim informed her father about the traumatic experience, leading him to file a written complaint at the Kalyanpur police station on March 30. In his statement, the father alleged that the three accused individuals had threatened to kill his daughter and the entire family by brandishing pistols and sharp weapons. These allegations add a layer of intimidation and violence to the case, underscoring the urgent need for a robust legal response.

The university's suspension of the students, combined with the ongoing police investigation, reflects a coordinated effort to address campus safety concerns and uphold justice. As the case progresses, authorities continue to gather evidence and statements to ensure a fair and thorough resolution.
