Dibrugarh Teachers Launch Home Visit Program for HSLC Candidates
Teachers across Dibrugarh district have begun mandatory home visits to students preparing for the High School Leaving Certificate examinations. This new initiative started on Monday following a directive from the district education department.
Exam Schedule and Official Order
The Assam HSLC exams for Class X students are scheduled to run from February 10 to February 27. Samiron Bora, inspector of schools for Dibrugarh district circle, issued the official order on January 17. The order requires all heads of institutions and teachers to visit HSLC candidates at their homes.
The program aims to provide targeted academic support ahead of the crucial board examinations. Teachers must offer academic guidance, moral support, and counseling to students. Special emphasis is placed on overall academic improvement.
Systematic Approach to Student Support
Teachers have received specific instructions for implementing this program. They must categorize candidates and identify weak academic areas for each student. Based on this assessment, they deliver focused, need-based assistance.
The official order states clearly: "Considering the limited time available before the examination, sincere, systematic, and result-oriented efforts are expected from all concerned."
Documentation and Accountability Measures
To ensure proper implementation, teachers must document their visits photographically. They submit this evidence to a designated email address. This documentation process creates accountability and allows monitoring of the program's progress.
Addressing Student Preparedness Concerns
Samiron Bora explained that this initiative addresses concerns about student preparedness. The program aims to bridge learning gaps before the high-stakes examinations. The personalized approach allows teachers to better understand individual challenges.
Teachers can identify issues related to home environment, study resources, or subject-specific difficulties during these visits. Bora emphasized: "This programme will ensure that no student is left behind. Face-to-face interactions at home can reveal obstacles that aren't visible in the classroom."
Comprehensive Support for Exam Success
The home visit program represents a comprehensive approach to student support. By visiting students at home, teachers gain insights beyond academic performance. They understand the complete context in which students prepare for their exams.
This initiative comes at a critical time with exams approaching rapidly. The district education department believes this personalized attention will significantly benefit HSLC candidates. The program demonstrates a commitment to ensuring every student receives adequate support before their important examinations.
