Guwahati Hosts District-Level Project Learning Exhibition & Chess Competition

A significant district-level project-based learning exhibition was recently organized at Ganesh Mandir Higher Secondary School in Six Mile, Guwahati. This educational event was conducted under the auspices of Samagra Shiksha, Kamrup Metro, showcasing innovative student projects and fostering academic excellence.

Student Participation and Competition Categories

Students from four PM Shri schools within the district actively participated in the exhibition, which was divided into three distinct categories to accommodate different age groups. Category A was designated for students from Classes I to V, Category B for Classes VI to VIII, and Category C for Classes IX to XII. Each competing team consisted of three students, promoting collaboration and teamwork.

In every category, first, second, and third prizes were awarded to recognize outstanding achievements. This competitive structure encouraged students to excel in their project presentations and demonstrations.

Concurrent Chess Competition

Alongside the project exhibition, a district-level chess competition was conducted among the four PM Shri schools. This additional event provided students with an opportunity to engage in strategic thinking and mental challenges, complementing the hands-on learning focus of the exhibition.

Dignitaries and Officials in Attendance

The event garnered attention from key educational officials and dignitaries. Notable attendees included Casio Karan Pegu, the additional deputy commissioner, education-cum-district management committee, Samagra Shiksha, Kamrup Metro, and Dipika Choudhary, deputy director of secondary education, Assam. Their presence underscored the importance of such initiatives in enhancing the educational landscape.

This exhibition and competition highlight the ongoing efforts to integrate project-based learning and extracurricular activities into the school curriculum, aiming to develop well-rounded students with practical skills and academic prowess.
