Kochi Schools Ring in Christmas with Music and Drama

Schools in Kochi have enthusiastically welcomed the Christmas season, transforming campuses into hubs of festive joy through music, drama, and vibrant celebrations. The events provided students a valuable moment of unity and reflection before the winter break commenced.

Diverse Cultural Performances Take Center Stage

At Chinmaya Vidyalaya in Vaduthala, the campus was adorned in bright festive colours for a special programme. The event was formally inaugurated by councillor and parent Henry Austin, who lit the traditional Christmas star. Students then captivated the audience with a range of cultural performances.

A school official highlighted that a key skit depicted Christmas celebrations from different parts of the world. "The presentation brought out the diversity of traditions and underscored the universal spirit of togetherness," the official said. It effectively illustrated the symbolism of elements like the Christmas star, carols, and cake across various countries.

Interactive Celebrations Spread Joy Across Schools

Greets Public School in Kaloor adopted a lively and interactive format for its festivities. Senior boys, accompanied by the school band, moved from class to class singing carols. This unique carol party successfully spread festive cheer among the younger students, ensuring participation from the entire school community.

Meanwhile, at Global Public School in Thiruvaniyoor, the highlight was a charming skit titled 'Christmas in Neverland', performed by Junior School students. The performance depicted the magical land of Neverland discovering the true spirit of Christmas. The celebrations were further enriched by melodious carol singing and other cultural performances.

A Grand Showcase of Festive Talent

Toc H Public School in Vyttila hosted its Christmas celebrations at the Dr K Varghese Auditorium. The cultural segment was a comprehensive showcase, featuring:

  • Carols sung in both English and Malayalam.
  • A dedicated Christmas play.
