Ludhiana: The Punjab School Education Board (PSEB) Class X results have brought disappointing news for students in Ludhiana, where the overall pass percentage stands at 89.20%. According to official data, Ludhiana is the only district in Punjab with a pass percentage below 90%, marking it as one of the worst-performing districts in the state.

Out of 36,872 regular students who appeared for the examinations, 32,888 successfully cleared them, resulting in a pass percentage of 89.20%. This figure is significantly lower than the state average and highlights the educational challenges faced by the district.
Comparison with Border Districts
In stark contrast, Punjab’s five border districts — Amritsar, Ferozepur, Pathankot, Tarn Taran, and Gurdaspur — have secured positions among the top five performers in the state. Amritsar emerged as the highest-ranked district with an impressive pass percentage of 98.41%, where 26,022 out of 26,443 students cleared the exams. Ferozepur followed closely with a pass percentage of 98.39%, as 9,184 out of 9,334 students passed. Pathankot recorded a pass percentage of 97.99%, with 5,716 out of 5,833 students succeeding. In Tarn Taran, 12,402 out of 12,662 students cleared the exam, yielding a pass percentage of 97.95%, while Gurdaspur achieved a pass percentage of 97.84%.
Previous Year Comparison
For the academic year 2024–25, Ludhiana had 38,387 students appear for the Class X PSEB regular examination, of which 36,573 cleared the exam, resulting in a pass percentage of 95.27%. This indicates a decline in performance compared to the previous year.
