Maharashtra FYJC Online Admissions to Commence on April 10
The Directorate of Secondary Education in Maharashtra has officially announced that the online admission process for First Year Junior College (FYJC, Standard XI) will begin on April 10. This initiative follows a centralized online system implemented across all junior colleges in the state, mirroring the approach used last year to streamline admissions.
Centralized Online Process Ensures Merit-Based Admissions
Mahesh Palkar, Director of the State Secondary Education Department, emphasized that admissions to junior colleges will be conducted strictly online and based on merit. "From last year, it was decided that admissions to all junior colleges across the state would be conducted strictly online and based on merit. The process continued until the last student secured admission online. Even towards the end of the first term, additional online admission rounds were conducted for students who had not yet secured admission," Palkar stated. This system aims to enhance transparency and efficiency, reducing administrative hurdles for students and institutions alike.
Two-Part Application Form: Details and Timeline
The FYJC admission form is divided into two parts to facilitate a smooth application process:
- Part 1: Available from April 10 at 10:00 AM, this section requires students to fill in personal details through the official admission portal.
- Part 2: Will be activated after the Maharashtra State Board declares the Secondary School Certificate (SSC, Standard X) examination results, as clarified by Palkar. The SSC exams have recently concluded, and answer sheet evaluation is currently in progress.
Students can access and complete the form via the official website, ensuring all submissions are handled through a secure online platform.
Support and Assistance for Applicants
To assist students throughout the admission process, a dedicated helpline number has been established. For any queries or technical support related to the FYJC admissions, students can contact 8530955564.
