The Madhya Pradesh School Education Department has officially released the results for the Class 5 board-pattern examinations for the academic year 2026, recording a remarkable statewide pass percentage of 95.14 per cent. The announcement was made at Vallabh Bhavan in Bhopal by School Education Minister Uday Pratap Singh, marking a significant achievement in the state's primary education sector.
Gender-Wise Performance Analysis Reveals Female Student Dominance
The comprehensive results data indicates a particularly strong performance by female candidates, who achieved a higher pass percentage compared to their male counterparts. Out of all students who appeared for the Class 5 examinations, an impressive 96.19 per cent of female students successfully passed the examination. In comparison, 94.15 per cent of male students cleared the assessment, reflecting a consistent performance gap that favors female students across the state.
Total participation figures reveal substantial engagement, with 1,276,404 students appearing for the Class 5 examinations throughout Madhya Pradesh. Among these candidates, 924,783 students were from rural areas, while 351,621 students belonged to urban regions, demonstrating widespread participation across diverse geographical settings.
Top Performing Divisions and Districts in MP Class 5 Results
Shahdol division emerged as the top-performing administrative division in the Class 5 results, showcasing exceptional educational outcomes. The division was closely followed by Narmadapuram, Indore, Chambal, Jabalpur, Bhopal, Gwalior, Ujjain, Rewa and Sagar divisions in descending order of performance.
At the district level, Narsinghpur secured the coveted first position among all districts in Madhya Pradesh. The district was followed by Dindori, Balaghat, Jhabua, Alirajpur, Sehore, Narmadapuram, Chhindwara, Indore and Barwani districts, highlighting regional variations in educational achievement across the state.
Examination Infrastructure and Administrative Framework
The Class 5 board-pattern examinations were conducted across an extensive network of educational institutions throughout Madhya Pradesh. Students from government schools, private institutions and madrasas participated in the comprehensive assessment exercise, which involved 110,699 institutions across the state.

For students who did not achieve passing marks in the initial examination, the department has established provisions for supplementary examinations. Under this framework, candidates will only need to reappear for subjects in which they were unsuccessful, rather than retaking the entire examination.
