Noida School Allowed to Run Primary Classes After CBSE Affiliation Withdrawal
Noida School Keeps Primary Classes Post-CBSE Affiliation Loss

Noida School Permitted to Operate Primary Classes Following CBSE Affiliation Withdrawal

In a significant development for education in Noida, the Uttarakhand Public School located in Sector 56 has been authorized to continue its operations for classes 1 to 8, despite the recent withdrawal of its affiliation by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). This decision comes weeks after the CBSE revoked the school's affiliation up to the senior secondary level due to multiple regulatory violations.

District Authorities Finalize Arrangements for Lower Classes

District Inspector of Schools (DIOS) Rajesh Kumar confirmed on Saturday that classes 1 to 8 will proceed at the existing campus under the jurisdiction of the Uttar Pradesh basic education department for primary and upper primary levels. This resolution was reached following a meeting involving the basic education department, the district magistrate, and other local authorities, aligning with earlier directives from the CBSE.

"As per CBSE's order, the decision regarding Classes 1 to 8 rested with the district. It has now been finalized. However, students in higher classes will need to relocate," Kumar stated, emphasizing the structured approach to managing the transition.

Curriculum and Academic Continuity for Primary Students

Officials have clarified that the curriculum for classes 1 to 8 will remain unchanged, with students continuing to use NCERT textbooks. However, the school will not hold CBSE affiliation until further notice, marking a shift in administrative oversight while maintaining educational standards for younger pupils.

Background of CBSE's Affiliation Withdrawal

The move stems from the CBSE's decision on February 18 to withdraw the school's affiliation up to the senior secondary level. This action was taken over multiple violations, including lapses in service conditions, workplace safety norms, and irregularities in salary payments, particularly affecting women employees. Despite the withdrawal, CBSE had permitted students in classes 10 and 12 to complete the 2025-26 academic session at the same campus. In contrast, students in classes 9 and 11 were directed to transfer to other CBSE-affiliated schools before the new academic session commenced.

Transition Plans for Higher Class Students

Officials indicated that the CBSE regional office is expected to release a list of schools capable of accommodating students from classes 9 and 11. Allocations will depend on available seats, academic streams, and other criteria. A joint meeting between CBSE and district officials is scheduled for next week to finalize the transition process, aiming to minimize disruption for affected families.

Parental Reactions and Concerns

The announcement provides clarity to the 550 students enrolled in classes 1 to 8, ending weeks of uncertainty about the institution's future. One parent expressed relief, noting that continuing classes at the same campus would prevent academic disruption during the current year. "Distance and fees are major concerns. This gives us time to plan any transfer next year," the parent said.

However, parents of students in classes 9 and 11 highlighted challenges with transferring at this stage, as board registrations are typically completed in advance. In most CBSE-affiliated schools, students are registered for class 10 board examinations in class 9 and for class 12 board examinations in class 11. "My daughter is in the science stream. When we enquired at another school, there was only a seat available in the commerce stream, so she could not take admission there," lamented another parent.

School Management's Appeal and Future Prospects

School principal Mohini Negi revealed that the management has appealed to CBSE to reconsider its decision and restore affiliation up to class 12. "We have requested the board to allow continued operations at the senior secondary level. We are awaiting a response," she stated, underscoring the school's efforts to regain its standing.

In its earlier order, CBSE specified that the school could apply for restoration of affiliation up to the secondary level only after two academic years, in 2027-28, subject to full compliance with safety norms, service conditions, and affiliation by-laws. This conditional pathway offers a potential future for the institution, pending adherence to regulatory standards.
