Rajasthan Education Department Unveils Comprehensive Enrollment Strategy
In a significant move to bolster student admissions, the Rajasthan education department has announced the commencement of a mega enrollment drive for the upcoming 2026-27 academic session. This initiative will kick off with a combined Parent-Teacher Meeting (PTM) and parent-anganwadi meeting scheduled for Wednesday, aiming to streamline the transition of children from anganwadi centers to formal schooling.
Four-Phase Enrollment Drive Details
The enrollment campaign is structured into four distinct phases, each spanning four days. The phases are set to begin on March 25, April 6, April 10, and April 15. According to officials, this phased approach is designed to ensure thorough coverage and maximize participation across the state.
During each phase, approximately 25% of the teaching staff from every school, along with administrative personnel from the education department, will engage in door-to-door visits. Their primary objective is to identify children who are eligible for admission, thereby facilitating a smooth enrollment process.
Aligning with Academic Calendar and Post-Exam Focus
The 2026-27 academic session is slated to start on April 1, and the early initiation of the enrollment drive is expected to significantly enhance admission rates. Officials emphasized that the concurrent scheduling of PTM and parent-anganwadi meetings on the same day serves a dual purpose: it ensures that children from anganwadi centers are seamlessly integrated into schools and helps prevent existing students from dropping out before advancing to the next grade.
In light of the recent declaration of Class 10 board exam results on Tuesday, teachers have been specifically instructed to prioritize ensuring that students who have passed enroll in Class 11. This targeted effort aims to maintain educational continuity and reduce attrition rates among higher secondary students.
Additional Health Survey Initiative
Complementing the enrollment drive, the education department will also launch a comprehensive health survey for all students starting April 16. This survey is intended to assess the well-being of the student population and address any health-related concerns that may impact their academic performance.
By integrating enrollment efforts with health assessments, Rajasthan's education authorities are taking a holistic approach to student welfare, underscoring their commitment to fostering a conducive learning environment for the upcoming academic year.
