South Point School Hosts Vibrant Grandparents' Day Celebration in Kolkata
South Point School in Kolkata marked a special occasion on March 6 with its Grandparents' Day celebration, exclusively organized for the grandparents of nursery I students. The school courtyard transformed into a festive arena, adorned with colorful balloons and heartwarming photographs showcasing the young children alongside their grandparents.
Festive Decor and Enthusiastic Participation
The stage was beautifully decorated with creative cutouts and props meticulously designed by the teachers of the nursery department. Around 115 children participated in the event, having been expertly trained by their dedicated teachers with support from the school's music department.
Musical Performances and Theatrical Delight
The program commenced with a welcoming song performed by the nursery I choir, setting a joyful tone for the day. This was followed by the musical production titled 'Thakumar Jhuli,' which captivated the audience as young children, dressed in enchanting costumes and using colorful props, performed with remarkable confidence.
The little performers skillfully transported the audience to a world of sea and land creatures, creating a magical atmosphere with their energetic dance moves set to lively music. The stage further illuminated with neon city lights during an underwater neon city fashion show, showcasing the creativity and talent of the tiny tots.
Modern Portrayal of Grandparents and Interactive Sessions
In a refreshing twist, the children portrayed modern-day grandparents as dynamic and tech-savvy companions, moving beyond the traditional "rocking chair" stereotype. The grand finale featured all performers casting a spell on the awestruck audience with a lively performance to the music of La Bamba.
The event also included interactive sessions with the audience, fostering engagement and connection. After each show, grandparents and their grandchildren were invited to enjoy refreshments and participate in games at a specially organized fun fiesta, adding to the day's celebratory spirit.
