Students from Telangana have delivered another outstanding performance in the CBSE Class 10 examinations, with the state emerging as one of the top performers across the country. The results, announced on Wednesday, highlight Telangana's consistent academic excellence, placing it in a prestigious position alongside other high-achieving regions.

Impressive Pass Percentages and State Rankings

While Tamil Nadu led the nation with a pass percentage of 99.9%, Telangana closely followed, tying with Kerala for the second spot at 99.8%. This marks a notable improvement from 2025, when Telangana held the third position behind Tamil Nadu and Kerala. The state's performance underscores its commitment to educational quality and student success on a national scale.

Gender Performance and School Achievements

Girls in Telangana marginally outperformed boys, achieving a pass percentage of 99.9% compared to 99.7% for boys. Numerous schools in Hyderabad reported perfect 100% pass rates, with top scorers securing remarkable marks above 98%. Notable achievers include Kode Sri Akshaya from Kennedy High The Global School with 98.5%, Jyothika Polu from Sister Niveditha School in Ameerpet with 98.4%, Reddy Bhanu Charan from Gitanjali Devakul with 98%, and Savaram Lakshmi Skandaa from Jubilee Hills Public School with 96.8%.

Insights from School Principals

Smitha Govind, principal of Army Public School in Bolarum, commented, "Our top student is Anshika Goyal, who scored 98.2%. At our school, excellence extends beyond academic achievement. This exceptional result reflects the spirit of perseverance, integrity, and holistic development that we strive to instil in every child."

Rekha Rao, principal of Oxford Grammar School, noted the shift in educational focus, stating, "The focus has shifted to meaningful learning from rote learning that was followed in the past. This year's performance reaffirms focus on conceptual clarity, skill building, and holistic development."

Challenges and New CBSE Exam Format

Schools reported outstanding results despite challenges during the examination period, such as adapting to evolving academic expectations, effective time management, and coping with exam-related stress. Additionally, this year marks the first time CBSE is conducting two board exams. The second board exams, scheduled from May 15 to June 1, offer students an optional opportunity to improve scores or retake failed papers in up to three subjects, with the best score being considered.

Inspiring Stories of Resilience

Bodhan Kumar's Journey: A student at Oxford Grammar School, Bodhan Kumar faced significant health challenges after a childhood fall that caused recurring symptoms like severe headaches, dizziness, and vomiting, disrupting his studies. Supported by his school and family, he demonstrated remarkable resilience, completing his schooling and securing 68% in the Class 10 exams. Bodhan now aims to pursue science in Class 11, showcasing his determination to overcome ongoing obstacles.

Sreethan's Determination: Just days before his board exams, Sreethan, a student at Hyderabad Public School, lost his father to kidney-related complications. Despite the emotional strain, including having his Mathematics exam on the day of his father's 11th-day ceremony, he displayed exceptional willpower. Sreethan appeared for all exams and achieved an impressive aggregate of 85.6%. He plans to pursue science in the MPC stream for intermediate studies, with aspirations to enter engineering, honoring his father's memory.
