UP Assistant Professor Re-amination Scheduled for April 18-19 Across Multiple Cities
The Uttar Pradesh Education Service Selection Commission has officially declared that the re-examination for the recruitment of Assistant Professors will take place on April 18 and 19, 2025. This decision comes months after the initial examination was nullified due to serious allegations of a paper leak and widespread irregularities.
Examination Centres and Schedule Details
The re-examination will be conducted across 53 centres located in six major cities of Uttar Pradesh: Agra, Meerut, Lucknow, Prayagraj, Gorakhpur, and Varanasi. The tests will be held in two shifts on both days to accommodate the large number of candidates.
- Morning Session: 9:30 AM to 11:30 AM
- Afternoon Session: 2:30 PM to 4:30 PM
Candidates from various academic disciplines, including arts, science, commerce, languages, and other subjects, will be assessed. The scheduling will be organized subject-wise across the different shifts to ensure a smooth and fair examination process.
Key Information for Candidates
Commission Chairman Prashant Kumar has provided crucial updates for the aspirants. Starting from April 8, 2025, candidates can check advance information regarding their allotted exam district through the official website of the commission. It is important to note that this advance city intimation is not an admit card.
The admit cards, or hall tickets, will be available for download from April 15, 2025. Candidates must carry a valid hall ticket to the examination centre, as entry will be strictly prohibited without it. This measure is part of enhanced security protocols to prevent any further malpractices.
Background and Context of the Re-Examination
This re-examination follows the cancellation of the previous test conducted in April 2025 by the Uttar Pradesh government. The decision was made after confirmed reports of large-scale irregularities and a question paper leak, which compromised the integrity of the recruitment process.
Approximately 1.14 lakh candidates had appeared for the original recruitment drive, which aimed to fill 1,017 Assistant Professor posts in aided degree colleges across the state. The cancellation and subsequent re-exam highlight the government's commitment to ensuring transparency and fairness in educational appointments.
The commission has urged all candidates to stay updated through official channels and adhere to the guidelines to avoid any last-minute issues. This re-examination represents a critical step towards restoring trust in the recruitment system for academic positions in Uttar Pradesh.
