IIT Roorkee Announces COAP 2026 Schedule for MTech Admissions and PSU Jobs
COAP 2026 Schedule Released for MTech Admissions via GATE

IIT Roorkee Unveils COAP 2026 Schedule for GATE-Based Admissions

The Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee has officially released the schedule for the Common Offer Acceptance Portal (COAP 2026), a crucial platform for admissions to Master of Technology (MTech) programmes and recruitment in Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs) through the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE). Registration for COAP 2026 is set to commence shortly on the official website, exclusively for candidates holding valid GATE scores.

This announcement follows the recent declaration of GATE 2026 results by the Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati on March 19. Eligibility extends to candidates who have qualified in GATE 2026, 2025, or 2024, providing a broad window for applicants. It is essential to note that COAP serves solely as a portal for accepting or rejecting offers; candidates must apply separately to each institute or PSU for MTech admission or job opportunities.

Options Available to Candidates in Each Round

During each round, candidates will have access to offers from various institutes and can select from the following options:

  1. Accept and Freeze: Accept the offer and cease waiting for other options.
  2. Retain and Wait: Keep the current offer while awaiting potentially better opportunities.
  3. Reject and Wait: Decline the offer and continue waiting for others.

Important Instructions and Guidelines

Candidates must adhere to specific rules throughout the COAP process:

  • The "Retain and Wait" option can be used only twice for the same institute and course combination.
  • In Rounds 1 to 4, all three options are available for selection.
  • Failure to select an option in any round will result in automatic rejection of the offer.
  • Round 5 restricts choices to "Accept and Freeze" or "Reject" only.
  • From Rounds 6 to 10, candidates must make final decisions, choosing either "Accept and Freeze" or "Reject".
  • Round 10 will be activated exclusively if certain institutes extend the admission process beyond Round 9.

Participating Institutes and Final Advice

COAP 2026 includes participation from premier institutions such as the Indian Institute of Science Bengaluru and numerous Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs), including Bombay, Delhi, Madras, Kanpur, Kharagpur, Hyderabad, and others. Candidates are strongly advised to monitor the official COAP portal regularly and ensure they submit separate applications to their preferred institutes to complete the admission process successfully.
