DAVV Indore Expands Academic Offerings with 10 New Integrated Programmes
Students in Indore seeking more career-oriented pathways after completing their class 12 education will soon have significantly broader options at Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya (DAVV). The university has announced plans to introduce ten new integrated courses starting from the 2026–27 academic session, representing a major expansion of its educational portfolio.
Substantial Seat Increase and Streamlined Career Entry
This strategic initiative will add a total of 515 new seats across various disciplines, providing enhanced opportunities for direct entry into specialized fields without the need for students to switch streams later in their academic journey. The proposed courses have already received clearance from the university's Board of Studies and will now be presented to DAVV's executive council for final approval. Once approved, these programmes will be incorporated into the upcoming admission process.
Comprehensive Programme Details Across Multiple Streams
Pharmacy Stream Enhancements: The pharmacy department will see substantial growth with new options including MPharma and MBA (Pharmacy) programmes. Additionally, the existing BPharma programme will expand its capacity from 60 to 100 seats, allowing more students to pursue pharmaceutical education.
Engineering Programme Expansion: At the Institute of Engineering and Technology, three new programmes will be introduced, each with 60 available seats. These include electronics and telecommunication engineering, industrial production engineering, and an MBA in technical management, providing diverse technical and managerial pathways.
Cybersecurity and Basic Sciences Development: A significant addition is the introduction of a BTech course in cybersecurity with 60 seats, addressing the growing demand for digital security professionals. Furthermore, integrated MSc courses in mathematics, physics, and statistics will be launched, enabling students to enrol directly after class 12 in subjects where undergraduate courses were previously unavailable at the university.
Biotechnology Options: In the biotechnology field, students will gain access to one-year MSc courses in biotechnology and bioinformatics, complementing the existing two-year programmes and offering more flexible study durations.
Industry-Aligned Curriculum and Admission Processes
University officials have emphasized that these new courses have been specifically designed to align with current industry requirements, thereby enhancing students' job readiness and career prospects. DAVV Vice-Chancellor Professor Rakesh Singhai clarified that admission procedures will vary across programmes, with some courses utilizing the common university entrance test while others will follow separate processes after final approval is secured.
This comprehensive expansion represents DAVV's commitment to providing contemporary, career-focused education that meets evolving market demands while offering students streamlined pathways into specialized professional fields immediately after their secondary education.
