Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (GGSIPU) has officially commenced its admission cycle for the 2026-27 academic session, with online registration scheduled to begin on February 2, 2026. The university, a prominent higher education institution in the National Capital Region, will accept applications until March 31, 2026, offering a wide array of undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programmes.
Expansive Seat Availability and International Quota
This year, GGSIPU presents an impressive over 43,000 seats distributed across more than 130 affiliated colleges and university schools. In alignment with University Grants Commission (UGC) directives, the institution reserves 25 percent supernumerary seats for international students in various UG and PG courses. A separate admission brochure for international applicants will be issued by the Office of the Director for International Affairs.
Mandatory Digital Credentials: ABC and APAAR IDs
A critical update for all prospective students is the university's mandate requiring the creation of Academic Bank of Credits (ABC) and Automated Permanent Academic Account Registry (APAAR) IDs. Course-Specific Eligibility Criteria
Eligibility requirements vary by programme. For instance, MBBS aspirants must:
- Qualify NEET UG 2026
- Pass Class 12 with Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology, and English
- Secure at least 50% aggregate in PCB for General category (40% for SC/ST/OBC)
- Be at least 17 years old by December 31, 2026
Age limits for other programmes include:
- UG courses (except MBBS): Maximum 21 years
- Specific UG courses: Extended to 25 years
- PG courses: Maximum 35 years

- Bachelor of Management Studies (BMS)
- MTech in Robotics and Artificial Intelligence

- BA BEd (Special and Inclusive Education) with multiple specialisations
Special Admission Provisions
Admissions to the LLB programme will be based on CLAT UG merit, while the LLM programme will consider CLAT PG merit. The university will retrieve candidate data directly from the Consortium of NLUs portal, requiring candidates to provide consent for data sharing. Additionally, management quota admissions necessitate qualification in national-level tests like GGSIPU CET 2026, CUET, or other relevant entrance examinations.
