The National Medical Commission (NMC) has approved an increase in the annual MBBS intake at Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), Sector 32, Chandigarh, from 150 to 200 seats, effective from the 2026-27 academic session.
Milestone for Medical Education
The approval marks a significant milestone in GMCH-Chandigarh’s ongoing efforts to strengthen undergraduate medical education and expand access to quality medical training. With the addition of 50 MBBS seats, a larger number of aspiring medical students will now have the opportunity to pursue medical education at one of North India’s premier government medical institutions.
