The vibrant campus of Guru Nanak Dev University (GNDU) in Amritsar came alive as the much-anticipated Inter-Zone Youth and Heritage Festival commenced on Tuesday, marking the beginning of three days of intense cultural competition and artistic expression.
Grand Opening Ceremony Sets the Stage
The festival was officially inaugurated by GNDU Vice-Chancellor Prof Jaspal Singh Sandhu in a ceremony filled with enthusiasm and cultural splendor. The event witnessed participation from over 2,000 students representing various university zones, all ready to showcase their talents across multiple performance categories.
During his inaugural address, Prof Sandhu emphasized the crucial role such events play in shaping well-rounded individuals. Dr Parminder Kaur, the festival's overall coordinator, revealed that the event follows a structured format where winners from the inter-zone level will advance to represent GNDU at the upcoming Inter-University Youth Festival scheduled for February. This progression system ensures that only the most talented performers get the opportunity to compete at higher levels.
