LU VC Directs Faculties on Research, Courses & Student Welfare

Lucknow University Vice-Chancellor Professor JP Saini convened a crucial meeting with all faculty deans and department heads on Monday. The session focused on implementing concrete measures to elevate the institution's academic standards and overall student experience.

Key Focus Areas for Improvement

Professor Saini outlined several priority areas requiring immediate attention. He emphasized the need for a significant boost in research activities and academic publications across all departments. The Vice-Chancellor directed every department to organize at least one national or international conference annually to foster scholarly exchange.

Enhancing Academic Programs

Faculty members received clear instructions to develop and introduce new courses that meet contemporary educational demands. They must secure all necessary approvals for these programs promptly. A major technological initiative involves integrating the university's Learning Management Systems with INFLIBNET under the One Nation, One Subscription scheme.

Student-Centric Initiatives

The university plans to implement several welfare measures for students. These include providing comprehensive general and medical insurance coverage. Authorities will strengthen coordination with the National Service Scheme and National Cadet Corps to enhance extracurricular engagement.

An Extension and Outreach Cell will be established to connect the university more effectively with the community. The administration also aims to increase student admissions both in the main university and its affiliated colleges.

Skill Development and Opportunities

Engineering students will participate in mandatory social internships to gain practical experience. Arts and crafts students will receive dedicated support for startup opportunities. The university will introduce more skill-based courses to improve employability.

These directives represent a comprehensive effort to transform Lucknow University into a more dynamic and student-friendly institution. Professor Saini expects all departments to implement these measures with immediate effect.
