Gorakhpur: Madan Mohan Malaviya University of Technology (MMMUT) has further solidified its position among India's premier higher education institutions by achieving impressive rankings in the International Institutional Ranking Framework (IIRF) Rankings 2026. The university secured the 51st position nationally in the Engineering category and the 66th position in the Management category. Additionally, it ranked 9th in Uttar Pradesh across both streams. Among state government technical institutions, MMMUT was placed second, trailing only HBTU Kanpur, as per the university's announcement.
Strong Performance Across Key Parameters
According to the rankings, MMMUT demonstrated outstanding performance in several assessment criteria. In the Engineering category, it scored 94.26 in Academic Reputation, 97.88 in Graduate Outcome and Employability, 90.79 in Research Outcome, and 95.23 in Wellbeing and Institutional Development. This culminated in an overall weightage index of 841.11 out of 1,000. In the Management category, the university achieved an overall weightage index of 784.96.
Factors Behind the Achievement
University officials attributed this success to continuous enhancements in academic quality, research output, innovation, industry collaborations, startup promotion, infrastructure development, and placement performance. MMMUT has also broadened its focus on emerging technologies, recently establishing a Centre of Excellence in advanced science and technology domains.
Vice-Chancellor Prof. Anupama Kaushik Sharma remarked that the rankings reflect the collective efforts of faculty members, researchers, students, alumni, and industry partners. She expressed confidence that this recognition will further motivate the university to strengthen research, innovation, and industry engagement while pursuing excellence in technical education and sustainable development.
