Nagpur University Announces Summer Examination Schedule in Revised Academic Calendar
In a move that brings much-needed clarity to students and educators, Nagpur University (NU) has officially announced the dates for the long-delayed summer examinations. The revised academic calendar was issued on April 1, following earlier reports by TOI on March 24 that highlighted the absence of a clear timeline for these crucial exams.
Staggered Start Dates for Different Student Categories
According to the freshly revised schedule, the summer examinations will commence from April 15, with a staggered approach for various student groups. Failure students of odd semesters and those enrolled in the annual pattern will have their exams starting on April 15. Meanwhile, regular and failure students of even semesters will begin their examinations from May 2.
Examination Form Submission Timeline Detailed
Nagpur University has also provided a clear timeline for the submission of summer examination forms:
- The submission process began on March 23 for all categories, including regular students of even semesters, old ex-students, and annual pattern candidates.
- The last date for submission is April 4 for old ex-students and annual pattern candidates.
- For regular students of even semesters, the deadline is April 10.
- Students awaiting their winter 2025 results can submit their forms within seven days of the result declaration.
Faculty Members Raise Serious Practical Concerns
Despite the university's efforts to provide clarity on exam dates, faculty members from affiliated colleges have expressed significant concerns. They point out a critical gap in the planning: while odd semester exams are scheduled to start on April 15, the university has neither released the detailed timetable nor declared the majority of winter exam results.
"Unless results are declared, students will not even know which subjects they need to apply for," said a senior faculty member, highlighting the practical difficulties this creates for students preparing for their exams.
Revised Academic Calendar Confirms Term and Vacation Dates
The updated calendar also confirms other important academic dates:
- The second term will now conclude on April 30.
- Summer vacation is scheduled from May 1 to June 15.
