Nagpur University is set to host one of its most significant academic events in recent memory. The institution's 113th convocation ceremony, scheduled for January 9, will see a staggering 61,871 students receiving their hard-earned qualifications.

A Grand Celebration of Academic Achievement

The ceremony will take place at the National Fire Service College auditorium in Raj Nagar, commencing at 3:00 PM. Vice-chancellor Manali Kshirsagar will preside over the event, with Dr. Anant Pande, President of AIIMS-Nagpur, gracing the occasion as the chief guest. The university's management council members and deans from all faculties will also be in attendance to honor the graduating students.

This convocation marks the formal culmination of academic journeys for students who successfully cleared their Winter 2024 and Summer 2025 examinations. University officials highlighted that the event celebrates the collective efforts of students across its vast network of affiliated colleges and postgraduate departments.

Breakdown of Degree Recipients

The scale of this convocation is reflected in the detailed faculty-wise data. The largest group of graduates hails from the Faculty of Science and Technology, with 20,308 degree recipients. It is followed closely by the Faculty of Commerce and Management, which will award 14,625 degrees. The Faculty of Humanities accounts for 12,441 graduates, while Interdisciplinary Studies will see 5,709 students receiving their credentials.

Beyond the main university departments, the ceremony will also honor 8,514 students from autonomous colleges affiliated with the university. Furthermore, 273 diploma certificate holders and one candidate for Master of Architecture by Research will be awarded their qualifications.

Recognizing Academic Excellence

The convocation is not just about awarding degrees; it is also a platform to celebrate outstanding scholarly performance. This year, the university will present 229 awards to 140 meritorious students. This prestigious list includes 194 gold medals, eight silver medals, and 27 cash prizes, underscoring the institution's commitment to rewarding academic brilliance.

Students who are receiving medals and prizes have already been notified. Meanwhile, attendees have been instructed to collect their entry passes from the university's examination department on January 8, the day before the grand event.
