Founder Principal of Police DAV Public School, Rashmi Vij, received a heartfelt farewell on her superannuation during a ceremony held on Saturday in Jalandhar. The event celebrated her three-decade-long career, marked by numerous accolades including the National Teacher Award (2007) presented by former President Pratibha Patil.
Ceremony Highlights and Tributes
MF Farooqui, ADGP-cum-chairman of the school, was welcomed with a floral tribute at the start of the valedictory ceremony. Musical performances dedicated to Vij stirred emotions among attendees. Videos and presentations showcased her journey and achievements over 30 years as principal. Dignitaries paid tributes, followed by a dance performance expressing gratitude.

Vice-chairman Inderjit Talwar, former chairman and retired DGP Rajan Gupta, retired PAP DIG PK Uppal, manager Sween Puri, DAV College Principal Anoop Kumar, Police DAV Public School Principal Yogesh Gambhir, and principals from various schools and colleges attended. Vij's Valedictory Address
During her address, Vij recalled cherished moments of her tenure and expressed gratitude to all who supported her journey. The event concluded with a bhangra performance.
Career and Contributions
A renowned academician, Vij served as Regional Officer for DAV Public Schools in Jalandhar Zone and City Coordinator for CBSE schools. She also held positions on district education advisory committees. Her accolades include the Global Teacher Accreditation (2012) from the British Council, the Scout Award from the National Innovation Foundation, and the Best Principal Award from the DAV College Managing Committee, New Delhi.
