In a significant recognition of its efforts to foster patriotism and national unity, the Rajendra Prasad Central Agricultural University (RPCAU) in Pusa has been honoured with a prestigious national award. The university received the award for "best contribution in nationality, patriotism, and nation-building through co-curricular activities" from Veterans India, in collaboration with major educational bodies.
A Ceremony of Honour in the National Capital
The award was presented to the university's vice-chancellor, P S Pandey, at a formal ceremony held in New Delhi on Tuesday. The event saw the convergence of dignitaries from various fields. The selection process for this honour was rigorous, with the committee comprising eminent judges, senior military officers, respected educationists, and high-ranking administrative officials.
The Deeksharambh Initiative: A Model for the Nation
While presenting the award, Anil Sahasrabudhe, chairman of the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) and the National Board of Accreditation (NBA), specifically lauded the university's flagship "Deeksharambh" programme. He highlighted that this unique initiative successfully instils a deep sense of patriotism and national pride among students, contributing significantly to their overall personality development.
Sahasrabudhe emphasised that RPCAU's Deeksharambh program has set a benchmark, showing a viable path for other universities across India to follow in integrating national values into education. He stated that the programme serves as an exemplary model for holistic student development.

The recognition was not limited to the university's cultural and patriotic endeavours. The chairman also commended RPCAU Pusa for its groundbreaking work in implementing digital agriculture practices in Bihar and other states.
