The Banaras Locomotive Works (BLW) in Varanasi has secured a prestigious national honor for its exemplary use and promotion of the official language, Hindi. The production unit has been selected for the first prize under the Railway Minister's Rajbhasha Shield and Running Vaijayanti Award Scheme for the base year 2024.
Recognition for Excellence in Hindi Implementation
According to a formal letter issued by the Rajbhasha Directorate of the Railway Board, the Ministry of Railways has chosen BLW for this accolade. The award recognizes the outstanding and effective work carried out in Hindi throughout 2024. BLW has been declared an 'ideal production unit' under the scheme, which is administered by the Railway Board.
Award Ceremony and Prize Details
The formal award ceremony is scheduled for December 26. It will take place during a meeting of the Railway Board's Official Language Implementation Committee in the conference hall of Rail Bhavan, New Delhi. The Chairman and CEO of the Railway Board will present the honors.
BLW is set to receive the coveted Rail Minister's Rajbhasha Shield along with a cash prize of Rs 14,000. This recognition highlights the unit's sustained commitment to integrating Hindi into its official workings.
